Just 2½ hours south of Hua Hin and a short speedboat hop from Bangsaphan Noi, Koh Talu is one of those rare islands where nature still leads. The water is typically calm and crystal-clear, the reefs are close to shore, and days flow between snorkeling, barefoot lunches and long, lazy beach hours.
Where Paradise Meets Purpose
Koh Talu is more than a pretty island — it’s a living eco project. Coral-planting programs have restored sections of the reef, and turtle conservation has helped endangered Hawksbill sea turtles return to nest on its shores. As a visitor, you’re invited to learn and, if possible, take part. It’s light-touch, meaningful tourism that actually leaves a place better.
Snorkeling & Marine Life
Slip into warm, clear water straight off the beach and you’re in a shallow garden of branching and boulder corals. Expect shoals of reef fish, anemone patches and, with a bit of luck, a glimpse of gentle blacktip reef sharks cruising the edge of the reef. For more time under the surface, the island’s dive center offers courses and boat trips to nearby sites.
Prefer something mellow? Kayak along the coast at sunrise, or sail a small catamaran when the afternoon breeze picks up. Back on land, Thai massage by the water is a sweet way to end the day.
Stay by the Sea – Thai-Style Villas & Beach Chalets
Accommodation on Koh Talu leans into nature: Thai-style villas in dark teakwood right on the sand, and relaxed beach chalets tucked among palms with big decks for morning coffee. It’s simple, airy and back-to-basics in the best way — sea breezes, starry nights and the sound of waves your only soundtrack.
- Big Bay: Thai-style Ocean Villas and cozy deluxe rooms set by a wide sandy bay, steps from the water.
- Pearl Bay: Clusters of villas (some 1–4 bedrooms) and beach chalets with balconies facing the sea or gardens.
