Course Details

Muang Kaew offers 18 holes with a par of 72, presenting a mix of wide fairways, well-guarded greens, and strategic bunkering. Unlike many courses in Bangkok, the greens are often elevated with large side catchment areas, making approach shots more challenging. The fairways are generous, but the high-lipped bunkers and shaved fringes add to the difficulty of holding the greens.

Course Highlights

The front nine features a mix of scoring opportunities and tough challenges. The par-5 4th hole offers a great birdie chance if players can navigate the multi-tiered green correctly. The 6th hole is a long and demanding par 5, with water protecting the right side of the green, while the 7th hole is a tricky par 3 playing over water to a fast, shallow green. The dogleg 8th hole forces players to flirt with water to set up a short iron approach to the green.

The back nine brings variety and risk-reward opportunities. The 13th hole, a par 5, features a blind tee shot and an approach over a large water hazard, creating a thrilling challenge. The finishing hole is equally demanding, with a deceptive par-5 18th where approach shots that fall short and right will find a hidden pond guarding the green.

Facilities

While the locker rooms could benefit from renovations, the clubhouse, restaurant, and pro shop offer an excellent experience. The restaurant serves some of the best Western cuisine in Bangkok, and the pro shop provides a wide selection of golf apparel at reasonable prices. Golf carts are optional, and the course is walker-friendly. The experienced caddie team adds to the overall enjoyment of the round.
