We would like to recommend your company to others, as we have only been satisfied with the price, the seamless arrangement from home of three taxi rides as well as good cars/minivans ready exactly as expected. Coming from Denmark, we might feel that the Thai drivers can drive a bit crazy, but they are considerate of one another in traffic and no dents occurred. On the longest trip, our driver was also told not to speed too much, which led to somewhat uneasy driving with minor unnecessary jerks and he listened reasonably! The last driver could even speak some English, which was certainly a plus with a lot of interesting information along the way and with flawless driving.
With regard to experiences, we can recommend the hotel Lanta Pura in Saladan on Koh Lanta with a splendid location overlooking the sea, a good pool area, excellent breakfast and good, friendly service. A short walking distance from the hotel it is possible for pleasant walks in the daytime and especially in the evening with authentic street kitchens, several restaurants in many (low) price ranges and a giant souvenir store with everything imaginable for very reasonable prices. Close to the hotel you can book a tuk tuk taxi or a regular taxi (with open roof top, which is nice as it is hot or completely closed with air conditioning) and the price is absolutely manageable. It is possible to make an arrangement with the driver to wait, until you are back from snorkeling, hiking etc. at a fixed price.
About 5 kilometers south on the east side of Koh Lanta, there is the option of riding an elephant in the mangroves enjoyable for the elephant, butterflies, a bit of excitement when the elephant is heading towards shallow water etc. Everything seemed pleasant and the price was 900 THB per person plus the purchase of bananas for the elephant! About 5 kilometers further south was a simple but interesting zoo/botanical garden, where the animals might not have had European conditions, but for 250 THB per person, the plants, trees and the tour was exciting. Even further south, it was possible to go on a long-tailed boat ride into the mangroves with several birds including a bald eagle and feeding of swimming monkeys on the way back. A small fish farm was shown with unusual fish and prawns. Further down south is Old Town, as the name says one of the oldest and most authentic of the island, although tourism has left its mark everywhere!
Remember ear protection/earplugs for optional speedboat rides!
Choose hotels with some local roads before possible highways, as there is always fast and noisy driving. There is then the option of fun exercise in the evening heat, if you are into that.
