Flights to Thailand – Tips, Prices and Best Travel Times
Thailand is one of Europe’s favorite long-haul destinations – and for good reason. Beautiful beaches, amazing food, warm weather year-round and endless opportunities for adventures. But what’s the smartest (and cheapest) way to get there?
In this guide you’ll learn:
- The best airlines – both direct and via stopovers
- Baggage rules and flight times
- How to save money by flying on the right days
- Which local airlines we recommend within Thailand
- How we can help with both international and domestic tickets
Where do flights depart from in Europe?
Major hubs with direct flights
From Europe you’ll find direct flights to Bangkok from cities like London, Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich, Copenhagen and Stockholm. Thai Airways, EVA Air, Finnair and sometimes seasonal flights with SAS or charter airlines cover these routes.
Other European cities
If you depart from smaller airports, you’ll usually connect in hubs like Istanbul (Turkish Airlines), Doha (Qatar Airways), Dubai (Emirates), Amsterdam (KLM) or Vienna (Austrian Airlines). These routes are often just as comfortable – and sometimes even cheaper.
When to book your flight tickets?
Tickets can normally be booked up to 330 days before return. Booking early gives better prices – especially in peak season (Christmas, New Year, Easter and July–August school holidays).
Tip: We recommend using Google Flights to compare prices and dates quickly.
