Hintok River Camp – Kanchanaburi, Thailand

Kanchanaburi is one of the most beautiful provinces of Thailand. It is known especially for “The Bridge over the River Kwai” and the Tiger Temple, which has become a must on many Thailand trips.

About an hour’s drive further out than the Bridge Over the River Kwai, Hin Tok River Camp is located, beautifully isolated near the jungle, forest and river.

You get to sleep in a tent in a way that you have not likely tried before. It is a luxury tent with beds, air conditioning, minibar, shower and toilet. A good way to be in close contact with the jungle outside while staying inside comfortably.

The kids love it. River Kwai is a real adventure. Down at the great river, a large natural swimming pool in stone has been carved, keeping the water constantly fresh. The current is too strong for one to swim in the river.

You are welcome to mountain bike around the beautiful area or go for a walk to the “Hellfire Pass” two kilometers from the resort, where many Allied soldiers died during World War II.

If you would like to get your muscles relaxed afterwards, you can enjoy a lovely Thai massage. Dinner is at the resort. There is simply no other possibilities and this is no problem as various Thai specialties in Thai style are served on small plates and divided afterwards. This way you get to taste it all. In the evening you can enjoy the shimmering starry sky in the pitch-black darkness.
