There’s a reason the Asian Tour keeps choosing Hua Hin for its Final Stage. It’s not just a golf destination – it’s the heart of Southeast Asian golf. The dream? That one day – after college golf in the US – he’ll tee it up in Final Stage and fight for his tour card on the very same courses where it all began.

While Oskar trains on lightning-fast greens and tough layouts from the back tees, Jakob is still chasing that magical 36-point round – ideally with minimal lost balls. And let’s be honest: cold drinks at the “watering holes” along the course are just as important for him. So here are both our perspectives on the top golf courses in Hua Hin.

Jakob’s Top 5 – “Give Me a Fair Chance!”

• Pineapple Valley (formerly Banyan) – Forgiving but fun. Beautifully designed and always enjoyable to play. Perfect for mid-handicappers.
• Black Mountain – Feels like playing on TV. Fair and top-class, but can punish you from the wrong angles.
• Majestic Creek – A bit of a wild ride, but that’s what makes it great. Plenty of birdie chances, if you can stay focused.
• Lake View – One of the easier rounds, depending on the loops you choose. Good scoring opportunities but not without challenge.
• Palm Hills – The oldest of the five, but still a cozy course with “old school” charm. Keep the ball in play and you’ll score.

Oskar’s Top 5 – “Test Me from the Tips!”

• Black Mountain – Simply the best. Fast greens, strategic tee shots, and a layout that demands precision. Never gets old.
• Pineapple Valley – Amazing green complexes and a layout that keeps you thinking. Par 4s that test you from tee to green.
• Lake View – The A & B loops are sneaky tough. Greens are trickier than they look, and wind often plays a role.
• Springfield Royal – Classic Nicklaus design. It gives you nothing for free. Whether you shoot +1 or -5 often comes down to how well you read the greens.
• Majestic Creek – A real test from the back tees. Water hazards, tight landing areas, and tough greens that don’t give in easily.

• If you’re like Jakob – mid-handicap and looking for a fun round without nightmares off the tee – go with Pineapple, Majestic, and Lake View.
