Only good golfers can play to their handicap on this course. The greens are well protected by bunkers and the very thick Bermudagrass is rough around the green and is to be avoided (if possible).

Mission Hills Country Club in Kanchanaburi is one of the three Jack Nicklaus’ designed Mission Hills golf courses in Thailand – the other two are Mission Hills Khao Yai and Mission Hills Phuket. The course is located about 2 hours from Bangkok in beautiful surroundings on a slightly sloping mountainside. Mature palm trees mark the outline of the fairways on this River Kwai golf course. It offers plenty of challenges in the form of water, trees and a Nicklaus’ specialty – waste bunkers.

Five holes of the course have double fairways, so the approach shots to the greens will be very different.

Mission Hills has no less than five different tee places. This way golfers at various levels can play the course.

The par 5 holes are probably the best holes Mission Hills Kanchanaburi has to offer.

The 8th hole, for example, is a long hole well protected by bunkers all the way down the left side and in the middle of the fairway. It also has a creek running from tee to green on the right side. The 12th hole is another long hole, where a stream divides the fairway in two with the option of choosing to go left or right.

The 17th hole is a par 4 known for its island green that does not make the shot easy.

With the magnificent scenery, this course is one of Kanchanaburi/River Kwai’s absolute best golf courses.
