Suwan is surrounded by orchards, rice fields, palm trees and lotus ponds, making Suwan Golf a tropical experience beyond the ordinary.

Major General Weerayudth Phetbuasak was headhunted to design this Thai masterpiece. Imported Paspalum grass was used in the fairways, while the excellent greens were rebuilt in 2009 with the latest Bermuda grass, Mini-Verde. The greens are among the best in Bangkok and can rightly be compared with the best championship courses in the area, such as Alpine and Thai Country Club.

The course opened in 2005 and has already won several honors. In 2009 and again in 2010, the Asian Tour International was held at Suwan Golf & Country Club and in 2011 Suwan hosted the prestigious Thailand Open .

The golf course is hilly with a challenging layout with each hole having its own unique character.

Fairways offer many uneven lies and greens are well protected by the surrounding bunkers. Greens are quick and difficult to read, so make sure you get help from your caddie in order to find the right line.

Many holes require long and straight drives. Water or out-of-bounds are threats on most holes. Suwan, though, is not a golf course, where you just hit long and straight. The many doglegs tempt the players to cut corners and for those who are able to, big rewards await. For those not able to, serious consequences lie ahead!

Hole 2 and 14 are two of the more challenging holes. Hole 2 is a double dogleg par 5 and hole 14 is a long par 4 with water running along the right side.

Hole 17 is Suwan’s signature hole. It is a par 4 where bunkers protect the green on three sides and water is on the left and right side of the green. This extremely challenging hole shows Suwan from its best side.

As with most golf courses in Thailand, the facilities at Suwan are excellent. Two large putting greens, a 300 yard grass driving range and a special bunker/chipping area.

The clubhouse has modern changing rooms, shower and jacuzzi and an excellent Thai restaurant overlooking the 9th hole. Caddies are well trained and highly service minded.
