When to travel to Thailand?
Thailand has a tropical climate, with different high and low seasons based on when it rains least and most. Previously, these seasons were crucial for choosing the best time to travel, but as the climate has changed, there is less and less difference between low and high seasons. In the rainy season, you can typically expect a heavy rain shower lasting about an hour each day. It’s very rare to experience entire days of rain, as we do in Denmark, so we will never discourage people from traveling south, even during the so-called “rainy season.” However, there are areas that are more “sun-safe” than others – and these are the ones we know, have experience with, and are happy to share with you.

December to March: The mainland and islands in the Andaman Sea are winter favorites. Here, you typically get 30-35 degrees Celsius warmth every day and sun in a cloudless sky. However, if you go to the islands east of the coast – like Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao – you can expect some windy weather, but still under a clear sky.

March to May and September to November:
– These months are great for traveling if you want the best prices and don’t necessarily dream of baking in the sun on a white sandy beach. During this time, there are fewer tourists, giving you a more local experience of your trip to Thailand. There may be more clouds and occasional rain.

If you want sun and summer, we typically recommend going to Hua Hin on the mainland’s east coast. The weather here is more consistent throughout the year, with less wind, and the sun tends to shine more in Hua Hin than in the rest of the country. It’s the perfect destination for a relaxing vacation on pristine white sand beaches, and due to its proximity to the major airport in Bangkok, Hua Hin is also a very accessible destination with a short travel time.

June to August: This is the famous rainy season in Thailand, but in some ways, it can still be considered a high season because it’s when the majority of the world’s population has holidays, affecting supply and demand. The rainy season in Thailand means an often cloudy sky and the possibility of daily rain. However, these are typically short showers lasting a maximum of 1 hour, and you may be lucky if it only occurs at night. There is, however, an area of Thailand that has dry weather and sun during this time of year, and that is the islands east of Thailand’s coast, namely: Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao. If you want to travel during the summer vacation, we would typically recommend going there. Here, you get white sandy beaches, local food markets, snorkeling, and elephant reserves. Thailand still has a lot to offer as long as you travel to the “right” places.

Thailand has it all when it comes to white sandy beaches, limestone cliffs, crystal-clear sea, and tropical rainforests. In some areas, you can find all four types relatively close to each other, while in other areas, you can get a taste of some of them. When traveling to Thailand, lush rainforests, amazing nature, and rich wildlife are a significant part of the experience in many popular destinations.

Thailand’s best beaches: If you dream of untouched, white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, and cozy beach bars at sunset, head to southern Thailand. You can find these kinds of beaches on almost all islands and coastlines in the south, but note that some areas are more touristy than others. Perhaps you prefer a lively atmosphere with many restaurants and exciting experiences. In that case, we would recommend going to areas like Phuket, Koh Lanta, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi, and Koh Samui. If you dream of a “deserted” beach where you can just gaze into the air for two weeks, eat at the same three restaurants, and simply enjoy life, we recommend beautiful islands like Koh Chang, Koh Yao Yai, and Koh Kood.

What about golf in Thailand?
In “our” hometown Hua Hin, some of the best golf courses imaginable can be found. It is not without reason that Hua Hin has been repeatedly voted as Asia’s best golf destination.
